From the many, breathtaking lookout points, you will marvel at the beauty of the Turrialba Valley and the Angostura Lake. Along the way you will observe and learn about sugarcane and coffee.

Rafting Pejibaye River
If you think that you are not ready for the wild Pacuare River, try the Pejibaye River. It is much quieter and is only a short thirty minutes from Turrialba.
Canyoneering
Also known as canyoning, this adventure sport includes slides, jumps, rappels, and swims. Our tour takes place just fifteen minutes from Turrialba.

Turrialba Volcano
One of the icons of Turrialba, the Turrialba Volcano rises to a height of 10,950 feet above sea level. Located just twenty-four kilometers northeast of the city, it is a protected national park of 3,900 acres.

This birdchecklist has been compiled for our property and important birding spots sites in Turrialba area, such CATIE, Tuis river valley and Silencio Mountain. Elevation range goes from 600 mts (1800 ft) to 1200 mts (3600 ft) above sea level.

Irazú Volcano
Along with the adjacent Turrialba Volcano, the Irazú Volcano is one of the defining landforms of the region. It is located in the Central Valley volcanic region, thirty-one kilometers northeast of the city of Cartago.
CATIE Botanical Garden
This botanical garden is just one facet of the CATIE, one of the world’s top agricultural, post-graduate universities. However, with over 400 species and 4000 specimens of plant life, the garden is worth the trip in and of itself.
Lankester Gardens
One of the renowned botanical gardens of Costa Rica, Lankester Gardens is most well-known for its orchids. With over 1,000 different species of orchids, flower-enthusiasts should be sure to make a stop at the Lankester Gardens.
Espino Blanco Forest Reserve
The Espino Blanco Reserve is situated in the township of Verbena, eight kilometers to the north of the city of Turrialba, and is a farm dedicated to the conservation of a variety of species of flora and fauna.
Grano de Oro Coffee Tour
The Hacienda Real Plantation houses the Grano de Oro coffee farm. The tour educates visitors about every aspect of coffee production, and includes a taste of the goods afterward.
Coffee, Macadamia Nut, and Sugarcane plantation Tour
“Tayutic: Hacienda Experience” is a plantation that beautifully displays the agricultural techniques of a century ago. Manually producing coffee, nuts, and sugar, the workers of the plantation proudly display their arts and welcome visitors with a lovely tour that ends with a tasting.
The Lost City of Guayabo
